COMMEMORATIVE MONUMENT
VTHM is thrilled to be initiating a statewide call to artists to submit design concepts for this new and exciting project. Focusing on the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust, the monument will be based upon VTHM’s Leaf Project - a call to action to learn lessons drawn from the Holocaust to help recognize prejudice, discrimination, and stereotyping.
This permanent outdoor structure is to both memorialize those 1.5 million children , as well as to honor the strength and resilience of those who survived. It should stand forever as a remembrance and a reminder of the consequences of hate.
The vision for this monument is for it to be a place for gathering, for learning, and for remembering.
